焼き付けるような太陽の光が街全体を包み込む。生成り、灰白色、乳白色、そして純白。砂質石灰岩による建物が並び、まばゆい光がさまざまな色調の白を浮かび上がらせる。
古い石畳の細い道を進むと、街中を舞う石灰石のパウダーが、次第にうっすらと身体を覆ってゆく。それらが乾気とともに肌や洋服の上で作り出すのはまるで白粉を叩いたような質感。
南仏プロヴァンス地方、古都アルルへの旅。古代ローマ時代の遺跡やロマネスク様式の教会をはじめとする建築物、そしてさまざまな芸術家が愛した素朴な街並みと瑞々しい自然。
アルルで出会った多様な表情を見せる白やそのテクスチャー、さらには街に咲き誇る植物や現地で受け継がれる伝統的な刺繍技法まで。
南仏で過ごした初夏の記憶は、2023年プレフォールコレクションへと姿を変え、ローヌ川のゆったりとした流れのようにリラックスしたムードで紡がれていきます。
Scorching rays of the sun lighten up the entire town. Off-white, grey-white, milky, and ivory. Buildings made of sandy limestone stand next to each other, the rays of light bringing out the various tones of white.
As one walks along the old cobblestone paths, limestone powders dance through the city, faintly embracing the body. Fusing with the dryness, a powdered texture is created on skin and clothes.
Travelling to the ancient city of Arles in the Provence region of Southern France. There remains historical buildings from ancient Roman ruins to Romanesque churches, and the scenery of rustic townscapes together with nature loved by various artists.
From the various expressions of white to its texture that one came across in Arles, to the traditional embroidery techniques that have been passed down locally and plants that bloom in the city.
Memories of the early summer spent in southern France transform into the 2023 Pre-Fall collection, woven in a relaxed mood like the slow flow of the Rhone River.
